Use Quick Find to search for a template and insert it

Quick Find is a fast way to locate and insert your templates without opening the main PhraseExpander window. It lets you search your templates directly from wherever you're typing, even if you don’t remember the abbreviation, saving time and keeping your workflow uninterrupted.

When to Use Quick Find

Quick Find is especially useful when:

  • You don’t remember an abbreviation
  • You have a large number of templates
  • You want to quickly search and insert content without leaving your current task

To Open Quick Find

  1. Press ALT + SPACE on your keyboard
  2. A small search window will appear
Press ALT + SPACE to open the Quick Find window

This shortcut can be changed in the keyboard shortcut settings:

  1. Open File → Options
  2. Go to the Shortcuts tab
  3. Locate the Quick Find shortcut
  4. Assign a new key combination

Searching for a Template

Once the Quick Find window is open:

  1. Start typing any part of the phrase you want.

This could be:

  • The abbreviation
  • The description
  • Or even text from the template itself
  1. Matching results will appear as you type
Quick Find search results will appear as you type

Quick Find searches only within active glossaries. If a glossary is disabled, its templates will not be included in the results.

Inserting a Template

When you see the template you want:

  1. Use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to navigate through the templates to select your desired template
  2. Press SHIFT or ENTER to insert it into your current application
